Due to my work schedule, we have missed practicing for almost a week. I was not able to get a full practice in since I was trying to race with the sun going down. However, I figured something was better than nothing! We were only able to get one track in. I tried rigging up the article with a tomato stake, then having the rope laid down next to the track. I was hoping that as we approached I could grab the rope to pull on it when he was nearing the end. Pulling on the rope and letting out his line at the same time proved to be more difficult than I thought! He did run towards it but did not pick up until I asked him to.
Track Layer: Myself
Treats: Chick fila nuggets and cheese.
Article: leather glove with squirrel pelt hanging out
Goal for track: Just to get out there and space out the food drops
How did it feel: Pretty good since he was pulling on the lead more than he usually does
3 Things that went well
1. Weather was nice for tracking.
2. He felt more enthusiastic, pulling on the leash.
3. There was a lot of distractions. He would look up but, not for too long. Glad he was not hyper fixating on the off-leash dogs nearby.
3 Things to improve
1. Figure out a better way to set up the article lure for when I am by myself.i Also forgot the 30 yard flag.
2. I felt like he was scalloping a lot. Not sure it was due to the food drops being too far apart for him or due to distractions.
3. Start working on more endurance tracks and possibly start laying off so many treats at the turns.

Track 1
120 yards. Food drops every 15 paces. Left open angle with drops every 5 and in and out of the turn.
Gosh if you just had one more arm!! My suggestion is to use just that long line, no tomato stake. So as you near the end, drop the line and drag it forward by the article. When the line is straightened out, drop your article. When on the last leg with Finwe, just reach down and pull. It doesn't matter if it moves away, toward, left, etc just that it move. In fact I would rather it twitch not fly 3 ft. Thanks for getting out there to practice!
