November 18th
My parents rented a river house in Deltaville for the week. Finwë and I made the trip up to hang out for a couple of days since I had some time off. Weather was warmer than expected. 
Track 1
- 10 feet aged 15 minutes
- used bird feeder and dead tree for double line up
- bate was Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets cut up very small placed about every 6-8 inches as MaryAnn suggested
- I stupidly forgot to put his harness on!!
He was slow to start. He also poked his face on the start flag and missed the treats. I had to prompt him numerous times to look/sniff the start again. Please ignore my dad practicing the pipes. My mom who was filming also started whistling for some strange reason. This distracted him and he kept looking up.
Track 2
- 20 feet aged 5 minutes
- used bird house and large straight oak as double line up
- same chicken nugget bate placed 6-8 inches apart
- again… forgot the harness 🤦♀️
This track seemed to go a bit better. He is still turning sideways a lot to check for missed food. Filmed wrong direction.
We also played some article games. I was interested to see how he reacts towards articles so I can start picking a behavior to shape for the final alert on objects. During the “can you” game he was not going down on the first try. However he would sit, then down on the first command. So something we may need to work on. The article I was using was a sock I kept in my bra during the drive to Deltaville. I would casually drop the sock while he was on the leash outside and he would dive for it and want to play tug. I would entertain him for a bit so he was still having fun. Then casually drop the sock again. He would pounce every time like it was a dog toy.
